OpenAI set to announce new ChatGPT, GPT-4 updates tonight; here’s what we know

ChatGPT could be getting an exciting update, and according to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, it could also be ‘magic-like’. In an X (formerly Twitter) post, the company confirmed its Feels Like Magic event that will take place online at 10:00am PT (which is 10:30pm IST). 

While rumours pointed towards a direct competitor to the Google Search engine, Altman, in a statement denied the possibility. If you’re wondering what to expect and how to stream the ChatGPT announcement tonight, here’s how to go about it: 

OpenAI 'Feels Like Magic' event: Where to watch

You can watch the Feels Like Magic event on the OpenAI homepage on Monday, May 13 at 10:30pm IST. The event is marked as the ChatGPT’s Spring update 2024 and the expected run time is close to an hour. Apart from here, you may also be able to catch the event live on the brand’s official YouTube channel.

Apart from denying the possibility of a full-fledged ChatGPT search engine, OpenAI has also refuted the launch of a GPT-5. However, several believe that the event could equip ChatGPT with more accurate answers and web pages. Currently, the AI chatbot has a knowledge cut-off date of December 2023.

Other possibilities include a Microsoft Copilot and Bing Chat-like integration for ChatGPT. This could help users verify the source of the information using references. While there’s no additional information as to how this could go about, the event is expected to bring more clarity to this claim.
