OnePlus has made some great value-for-money Android tablets in the form of the OnePlus Pad and OnePlus Pad Go in India over the past year. Now, the brand has launched a new tablet in China which comes with some updated specifications and new features, along with a confusing naming scheme.
Here’s everything you need to know about the tablet, including why it’s not called the OnePlus Pad 3, and whether you should hold your breath on the device coming to India later. Let’s go.
OnePlus Pad 2024: What’s new?
The new OnePlus Pad comes with a 11.61-inch LCD screen with a peak brightness of 700 nits. While it won’t pack the punchy colours of an AMOLED screen, the tablet does come with 144Hz refresh rate, making it great for high-fps gaming.
The OnePlus Pad doesn’t look very different on the outside, and still comes with a design like the older OnePlus Pad series, including the circular camera island. However, on the inside, the tablet now packs the MediaTek Dimensity 8350, which is an upper mid-range chipset.
This is clubbed with a 9,520mAh battery and 67W fast charging, and OnePlus claims the tablet can output up to 16 hours of video playback on a single charge, which should be good enough for most long flights. Since this is a China variant, the tablet is powered by Android 15-based ColorOS, but globally, this could be replaced with OxygenOS.
Other features include stylus support, an 8MP front camera, and support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. For all this, the OnePlus Pad 2024 is priced starting at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs. 24,000), and will be available in two colours – Deep Ash and Tundra Green.

While there is no word on the global launch of the tablet just yet, that may happen in early 2025. In India, however, the tablet may need some tweaking to its name, in order to not be confused with the older OnePlus Pad.
