The OnePlus One was one of the best foldables to buy in 2024, despite being older than rivals from Samsung and Google. Now, with the phone getting even older as we head into 2025, OnePlus has dropped the price of the device massively.
The OnePlus Open is now available for Rs 99,999, bringing its price below the Rs 1 lakh mark for the first time since its launch. It is now the only foldable that you can get under a lakh (not including ‘flip’ style phones) that still offers a good balance of hardware and software.
OnePlus Open key features
The OnePlus Open comes with a 6.3-inch outer display and a 7.82-inch foldable inner display. Both screens are LTPO AMOLED panels with 2K resolution and 120Hz variable refresh rate. The phone has a 48MP + 48MP + 64MP triple camera on the back along with two front cameras (20MP and 32MP) on the outer and inner screens.
Other specifications include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 16GB RAM, 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, and a 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The phone weighs 239 grams and is just 0.59cm thin when opened and 1.19cm thin when closed.
OnePlus Open: Why you should still consider getting one?
The OnePlus Open was powered by flagship specifications when it launched a little over a year ago. Today, while some aspects of the hardware are outdated, the phone continues to offer more than enough firepower for not just day-to-day use, but also demanding games and applications.
Couple that with all the software optimisations OnePlus made specifically for the OnePlus Open, and you have a great multi-tasking device that actually leverages the large, inner display.
This includes an application dock, a lot of split-screen options and more. Those a little more conscious about their specifications may want to take note of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip powering the phone.
