Smartphones with plain rectangular bodyshells, no matter how powerful, suddenly seem so yesterday. Foldable phones are the way to go this year. Speaking of which, OnePlus has launched its first-ever foldable phone, and it is called the OnePlus Open.

The OnePlus foldable phone joins a slew of fold and flip smartphones available today in India, with Samsung leading the charge with its Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5. Joining them recently is the new Oppo Find N3 Flip, and the Tecno Phantom Fold V.

With the OnePlus Open launching today at an event in Mumbai, read on to find out everything about the new foldable phone.

Here’s how OnePlus’ first foldable device stacks up against its rivals. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The device is available in a single storage variant, with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Making the foldable smartphone tick is a 4,805mAh battery, with support for 67W SuperVOOC charging. Other features include a 7.82-inch 2K AMOLED display on the inside, with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6.3-inch 2K AMOLED display on the outside.

The main display is shielded by ultra-thin glass, while the outer display is shielded by a ceramic guard. For audio, there is a multiple-reality speaker setup, with support for Dolby Atmos.

Speaking of optics, the OnePlus Open features a triple camera setup on the rear, housed in a centrally-placed circular module. There is a 48MP primary lens from Sony, a 64MP telephoto camera, and a 48MP ultrawide lens. On the front, is a 20MP camera on the inside, and 32MP camera outside, for selfies and video calls.
