OnePlus recently rolled out the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 update, and the first two devices to get the update were the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. Now, it’s the turn of OnePlus’ first and the only foldable yet, the OnePlus Open.

The update has already been rolled out, giving the foldable phone users the taste of both the latest Android 15 OS and OxygenOS 15 skin. Here’s everything new with the update and how you can update your OnePlus Open to the latest version of Android, OxygenOS.

What’s new with Android 15-based OxygenOS 15?

The Oxygen 15 update, which is based on Android 15, brings a number of features and changes. This includes fresh animations, a snappier performance, and several AI features. Let’s look at the details, as mentioned in the changelog.

The latest update introduces parallel processing architecture, allowing for parallel response and unified rendering to enhance the multi-app switching experience. Additionally, OxygenOS 15 makes the UI more stable and consistently smooth.

The UI also adds system-level swiping curve coverage for third-party apps, allowing for consistent scrolling experience throughout the system, as OnePlus says it in the changelog.

Apart from the visual and performance-centric changes, the update adds new features, including updates to AI tools to make the OnePlus experience better. The AI Retouch tool for photos has received a new ‘Enhance clarity’ feature, allowing you to improve the overall photo quality.

There’s also a new AI Reflection Eraser and Remove reflections feature for the AI Retouch tool. The latter removes glass reflections for a clearer final image. Besides this, there’s a new AI writing suite that is aimed at improving users’ writing abilities.

The update also brings OnePlus Share, which enables file transfer capability with iOS devices. Users can also share live photos with nearby iOS devices in seconds with this tool.

How to update

Since the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 update for the OnePlus Open is a stable update, you don’t have to do any workarounds. Instead, you should get an update notification telling you to install it. The update has the following firmware version – CPH2551_15.0.0200(EX01).

Step 1: Open Settings on your OnePlus Open.

Step 2: Tap on About device.

Step 3: Open the Software update tab and look for an update.

Step 4: Once you have the update, just download and install it.
