OnePlus skipped a year for its foldable phones, as its first and the only foldable device in its portfolio – the OnePlus Open – was launched back in October 2023. This year, the brand might finally introduce its successor, and it may have a special design feature up its sleeve.
The next OnePlus foldable could be the thinnest foldable phone yet, as hinted by the OnePlus founder and Oppo’s Chief Product Officer (CPO) Peta Lau. In addition to the design, the device may also come with upgraded hardware and software.

Here’s everything you need to know about the next OnePlus foldable. From its design and specifications to its release timeline.
Everything you need to know about the OnePlus foldable
As per a post by Lau on Weibo, the next Oppo foldable dubbed the Oppo Find N5 will be the world’s thinnest folding flagship. Now, since the OnePlus Open was a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N3, the Find N5 is also expected to arrive as the next OnePlus foldable.
Having said that, the next OnePlus foldable may as well have a thin design and may be sold as the thinnest foldable in global markets, including India. If OnePlus’ claims are to be true, it will directly rival the Honor Magic V2, which is currently the thinnest foldable on the market.
Notably, the Honor Magic V2 measures 9.2mm in thickness when folded and 4.7mm when unfolded. What that means is that the next OnePlus foldable could be slimmer than Honor’s Magic V2 foldable phone.

Apart from the design, there’s nothing else that Lau revealed. However, as per previous reports, the foldable phone may feature a 2K primary display with a high refresh rate resolution. Performance-wise, expect a Snapdragon 8 series chipset, likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
The foldable may also have a triple-rear camera system and a battery that’s as big as a 6,000mAh. Plus, wireless charging is something you can expect alongside wired charging. Further, the device may run Android 15 OS out of the box with OxygenOS 15 on top.
That’s all we know about the next OnePlus foldable. Stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma to learn more about the foldable in the coming weeks.
