OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Pad 2, and OnePlus Nord 4 get OxygenOS 15 OTA update

If you bought a OnePlus device last year, you will be glad to know that OnePlus is regularly pushing the latest OTA updates for its older devices too. The company has begun pushing an OxygenOS 15 OTA update to a few its devices including the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Nord 4, and OnePlus Pad 2. Its flagship OnePlus 12 received the same update recently. OxygenOS 15 OTA update rolling out to select OnePlus devices in India

The newest OxygenOS 15 patch’s model number is OxygenOS 15.0.0.701. The OTA update has begun rolling out to users with the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Nord 4, or the OnePlus Pad 2 in India. Notably, all these devices, including the OnePlus 12 which also got the same update, launched last year.

The update has begun rolling out to Indian users in a phased manner, so you may not get it immediately. However, it should make its way to your device within the next few days if it’s an eligible one. The update also comes with the March security patch for the 12R, Nord 4, and Pad 2.

OxygenOS 15 OTA update: New features and improvements

OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus Pad 2 users who have installed the OxygenOS 15.0.0.701 will get access to a few new features.

You can resize folders on the home screen by dragging to various dimensions including 1×2 or 2×1. OnePlus has also improved the animations for notifications and quick settings to provide a more seamless experience.

The dock is now capable of displaying five apps, even when the homescreen is set to only show four. The size and appearance of 2×2 third-party widgets can also be adjusted to main consistency.

The update also “improves the process of resetting your privacy password”, both on smartphones and tablets. Users will have to link their chosen privacy password to their connected account, and this will let them use their account to reset the password to access private data.

Furthermore, Wi-Fi network switching and mobile data roaming have also been improved. The phones and tablet will also notify you when an app accesses your location for three consecutive days to boost privacy and security. OnePlus has also added an option to disable ad tracking for all apps with a single tap.

The update also adds a privacy centre to the phone manager that reviews the permissions of apps and gives users the option to revoke them.
