OnePlus 12R is getting an Electro Violet makeover with the Genshin Impact edition

Remember the OnePlus 11R Solar Edition from last year? Yes, the one with the insane bright red leather back and as much as 18GB of RAM.

Well, OnePlus is giving its budget flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12R, a similar upgrade this year. To find out just what it is, read on.

OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Editon: What we know so far

OnePlus just teased the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact edition in a post on X (Formerly Twitter). The phone will sport an Electro Violet colour scheme this time around, inspired by the element Electro, and the popular playable character Keqing.

While other details remain scarce at the moment, you could also expect to see other elements from the game integrated into the phone’s design, as well as its UI. This could be similar to what the company did with the OnePlus Nord 2 a few years ago, with the Pac-Man edition.

However, the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact edition is likely to monitor the standard OnePlus 12R in terms of specifications. That is not to say it would be a slouch by any measure, since the device comes armed with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.

There’s also a 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC fast charging, and a large 6.78-inch 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with LTPO, which supports a variable refresh rate between 1-120Hz.

However, the phone could get optimisations especially for Genshin Impact. This could comprise of smoother frame rates and improved graphics, and perhaps even in-game options which are limited to the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact edition.

OnePlus 12R: Expected pricing and availability

The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact edition will debut globally, as well as in India on 28 February, and will be unveiled at MWC 2024. To recall, the OnePlus 12 and the OnePlus 12R devices both debuted in India exactly a month ago.

Pricing details for the device remain unknown as of yet, but it is expected to cost a slight premium over the regular OnePlus 12R, which is priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 45,999 for the 8GB RAM and 16GB RAM variants respectively.
