OnePlus launched its highly anticipated flagship – the OnePlus 12 – last night in India. The phone brings a flagship chip and design as well as a capable camera setup. This naturally puts it up against other flagships in the segment, like the Apple iPhone 15 or the Samsung Galaxy S24.

However, some of you may be confused as to which one offers the best specs for their price. Worry not though, for this is where come in. We put together this comparison between the three devices to help you make an informed choice between the three and get the most out of your purchase. Read on.

The OnePlus 12 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 are both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The chipset brings on-board AI capabilities to both devices, from the cloud, and can do anything from generate texts and images to summarise webpages, transcribe and translate calls in real-time, and more.

The iPhone 15 on the other hand, is powered by Apple’s A16 Bionic chip, which also previously powered the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The chipset, while powerful, does miss out on AI capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Coming to RAM and storage, the OnePlus 12 is available in two variants – one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and the other with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Samsung Galaxy S24 comes with 8GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage.

The iPhone 15 is available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants. RAM on the phone tops out at 6GB RAM.

However, since the iPhone’s optimisation models differ greatly from the other two, owing to its hardware as well as the operating system. 6GB of RAM therefore suffices for most use cases for iPhone 15 users, and cannot be compared to the RAM of the Galaxy S24 and OnePlus 12.

The OnePlus 12 features a 5,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired SuperVOOC and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. The Galaxy S24 on the other hand, features a 4,000mAh unit with support for 25W wired, 15W wireless and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

On the other hand, the iPhone 15 features a 3,350mAh unit. For the first time, it gets a USB Type-C port for charging and also supports 15W wireless charging using a MagSafe or Qi2 charger.

The OnePlus 12 has a 6.82-inch ProXDR OLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of as much as 4,500 nits, as well as support for Dolby Vision and an HDR10+ certification.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 features a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Both devices get LTPO, which means they can vary their screen refresh rate from anywhere between 1Hz-120Hz to save battery.

The iPhone 15 gets a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 2,000 nits of peak brightness, HDR10 as well as support for Dolby Vision. The refresh rate on the iPhone 15 however, is 60Hz.

For audio, the OnePlus 12, Samsung Galaxy S24, as well as the iPhone 15 get a stereo-speaker setup, with the OnePlus also featuring support for Dolby Atmos.

The OnePlus 12 features a triple camera setup at the rear, with a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 64MP 3x periscope telephoto sensor with support for optical image stabilisation. On the front is a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 on the other hand, features a 50MP wide-angle sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 10MP telephoto lens. It features support for 3x optical zoom as well, and digital zoom up to 30x. On the front, it gets a 10MP camera for selfies and video calls.

The iPhone 15 on the other hand, gets a dual camera setup at the rear, with a 48MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. On the front is a 12MP camera.

OnePlus 12 vs Galaxy S24 vs iPhone 15: Software

Both the OnePlus 12 and Samsung Galaxy S24 come running on Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 and One UI 6.1 respectively, straight out of the box. However, in the case of the Galaxy S24, Samsung has promised up to seven years worth of software updates and security patches for the device, whereas OnePlus makes no mention of how many years the OnePlus 12 will continue to receive updates.

The iPhone 15 currently gets iOS 17.3, which is the latest version of Apple’s proprietary operating system for its phones as of yesterday. Like all iPhones, the iPhone 15 is expected to get updates for five years.

The recently launched OnePlus 12 is available in Flowy Emerald and Silk Black colourways and is priced at Rs 64,999 for the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, whereas the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant is priced at Rs 69,999.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 is available in Amber Yellow, Cobalt Violet, and Onyx Black colourways, and is priced at Rs 79,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 89,999.

The iPhone 15 is available in Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green and Black colourways. It is priced at Rs 79,990 for the 128GB storage variant, Rs 89,990 for the 256GB variant, and Rs 1,09,900 for the 512GB storage variant.
