OnePlus 12 gets Hasselblad Master Mode with first software update

The OnePlus 12 just launched last week, and the brand’s new flagship has already received its very first update. The new update brings a much-awaited Hasselblad Master Mode to the OnePlus 12’s stock camera app. Here’s everything you need to know about it and along with the features to look forward to.

Hasselblad Master Mode: What is it?

Swedish camera maker Hasselblad, a frequent partner of OnePlus when it comes to smartphone photography, is known for the dynamic range and colour accuracy on its cameras.

The new Master Mode aims to bring this image quality to the OnePlus 12, and will be accessible with a simple swipe towards the left, where users will find a dedicated mode panel. The Master Mode changes picture quality on four fronts:

Dynamic Range: The new mode will boost the dynamic range of the OnePlus 12 Camera for better pictures.

Colour Accuracy: The mode will also help the OnePlus 12 capture more life-like colours, avoiding extra saturation leading to fake-looking images.

Detail Preservation: With the new Hasselblad Master Mode, the OnePlus 12 will be able to preserve more details in pictures, allowing subjects to look sharper and also letting you zoom and crop more into images.

Professional Editing Tools: The Hasselblad Master Mode offers a variety of editing tools for creative users. These will help users highlight the best parts of their photos and adjust elements like contrast.

How to download the update?

The Hasselblad Master Mode feature comes with OxygenOS version 14.0.0.404. This update should come as an OTA (Over-The-Air) update to OnePlus 12 users with a 6.48GB size.

However, as you probably already know, not all Android phones get new updates at once. Those who don’t get the notification for the update can manually check for the same by heading to Settings > About Device and tapping on the OxygenOS banner on the top of the screen.

You should then see the update and can follow on-screen instructions to install the same. If you still don’t see the update, you may want to try checking for the update again after some time.
