We may be closing in on the end of the year, but by no means are brands done with their big launches. Ending 2023 on a high is OnePlus, which has unveiled its flagship OnePlus 12 series in China. What’s more, the unveiling coincides with the brand’s 10th anniversary. Read on to find out everything about the new OnePlus 12.
OnePlus 12 features and key specifications
Now that we’ve got everything else out of the way, let’s take a closer look at the device itself.
Processor, RAM, and storage
The new smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and comes with LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. It comes in four variants – a base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, mid-range variants with 16GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1TB of storage, and a top-of-the-line variant with a whopping 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Battery
Under the hood is a large 5,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired SuperVOOC charging, and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging, which is more than its closest rival currently – the Galaxy S23 series.
Display, design, and cameras
The OnePlus 12 has a 6.82-inch 2K super-fluid OLED LTPO display, with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of as much as 4,500 nits.
Coming to optics, the OnePlus 12 features a large, offset circular camera island at the back, similar to the OnePlus 11 series. The triple camera setup, which comes with a Hasselblad branding, consists of a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary shooter, a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP Sony OV64B 3x periscope telephoto lens. On the front, you get a 32MP Sony IMX615 camera for selfies and video calls. One crucial difference this time around however, is that the punch-hole camera cut-out has been moved to the centre of the device, a departure from the offset design in previous models.

OnePlus’ latest flagship is housed in a metal frame, with the iconic alert slider on the left, and the power button and volume rockers on the right. The device also comes with an official IP65 water and dust resistance rating, something which was missing on several OnePlus devices previously.
Connectivity options on the OnePlus 12 include USB Type-C port, support for NFC, as well as an IR blaster.
OnePlus 12 pricing and availability
The latest flagship offering from OnePlus can be had in three colourways – black, white, and an emerald green colour with a marble-like finish.
As mentioned, the device has launched only in China, with no word of an India launch. In that market, the device is priced at CNY 4,299 (approximately Rs 50,700) for the 12GB RAM variant, CNY 4,799, and CNY 5,299 (approximately Rs 56,600 and Rs 62,500) for the 16GB RAM variants with 512GB and 1TB of storage respectively, and CNY 5,799 (approximately Rs 68,400) for the 24GB variant.
