OxygenOS 14 update: OnePlus 11R, OnePlus 10T users get a taste of Android 14

It’s been a couple of months now since Google officially announced Android 14, the latest version of the popular operating system. Many brands like Samsung and OnePlus have already started rolling out their own version of the update to smartphones. Today, two more OnePlus smartphones – the OnePlus 11R and the OnePlus 10T – have started getting the Android 14 update.

Announced back in September this year, the Android 14 update comes via OxygenOS 14, OnePlus’ own skin (user interface). With the new update, OnePlus 11R and OnePlus 10T users can expect a lot of new features including Smart Cutout, File Dock, as well as the new Aquamorphic Design 2.0 design language, which is set to give these two phones a new look-and-feel.

The new update is set to bring a lot of new features to these two phones. This includes Google’s own additions to Android 14, like better privacy and security features and better battery management. The OnePlus 11R is also set to get the new November 2023 Android Security Patch with the new update.

OnePlus will also bring its own new features in OxygenOS 14, including the new Aquamorphic Design 2.0 visual revamp, which is set to give the phones a new look-and-feel, something Android updates themselves have lacked for quite a few years now.

A new proprietary software called the Trinity Engine will also help OnePlus phones on OxygenOS 14 better manage CPU and RAM optimisation for a general performance boost. Other features like the new File Dock, Security Centre and a new Notes 2.0 app are also set to make general usage more productive and intuitive. The File Dock in particular, will help users’ OnePlus devices to communicate with each other more seamlessly, enabling quick file sharing and more.

If own a OnePlus smartphone that is not the 11R or the 10T, worry not. The update will soon be coming to a lot of other phones of the OnePlus 9, 10 and 11 series, as well as some of the Nord smartphones.
