OnePlus 11 5G, 11R 5G launched in India

The year is off to an exciting start, with the flagship war fast heating up. After the recent Samsung Galaxy S23 launch, OnePlus has officially released its highly anticipated OnePlus 11 series devices in India. While the OnePlus 11 was unveiled for the Chinese market earlier this year, it was officially released in India and other global markets at OnePlus’ Cloud 11 event, held this week.

OnePlus’ latest flagship line-up consists of two devices – the base OnePlus 11R 5G and the top-of-the-line OnePlus 11 5G.

OnePlus 11 5G key specifications

Powering the top-of-the-line OnePlus 11 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC, paired with an Adreno 740 GPU. The device can be had in two configurations, one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, while the other is offered with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The base OnePlus 11R 5G is no slouch either. The device is powered by the already super-capable Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, paired with an Adreno 730 GPU. Like the more expensive OnePlus 11 5G, it can also be had in two configurations – with either 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage respectively.

Design

The OnePlus 11 5G measures 8.53mm thick and weighs in at 205 grams. It sports a curved 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display, with a resolution of 3216 × 1440 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate of between 1 and 120Hz. Furthermore, the display also has support for HDR10+, and Dolby Vision playback, along with a peak brightness of up to 1300nits. Then display features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and a punch-hole for the front camera.

The less expensive OnePlus 11R 5G is 8.7mm thick and weighing in at 204 grams. It is offered with a Super Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels and variable refresh rate of 120Hz. On the audio front, it is offered with OnePlus’ dual “Reality” speakers with noise cancellation support and Dolby Atmos.

The OnePlus 11R 5G also sports dual stereo speakers with noise cancellation support. However, being more mid-range in nature, the OnePlus 11R 5G is not offered with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. There’s however a return of an interesting feature – alert slider – on both devices.

OnePlus 11 5G

Cameras

The OnePlus 11 5G features a triple rear-camera setup, with a 50MP primary lens with optical image stabilisation, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32MP 2x telephoto lens. On the front is a 16MP camera for video calls and selfies, with Electronic Image Stabilisation. 8K video is capped at 24fps, while 4k is capped at 60fps.

The less expensive of the two devices, the OnePlus 11R 5G also features a triple rear-camera setup, However, though it has a 50MP primary shooter, same as the one on the more premium OnePlus 11 5G, its secondary cameras are an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens. The OnePlus 11R comes with 4K video support capped at 60fps. It features a front 16MP front camera with Electronic Image Stabilisation, same as the OnePlus 11 5G.

Battery

Both the midrange OnePlus 11R 5G and the premium OnePlus 11 5G feature 5,000mAh battery with 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging support, which OnePlus says can charge the devices from 0-100% in just 25 minutes. Connectivity options on OnePlus’ latest flagship include 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

Both the OnePlus 11 5G and OnePlus 11R 5G ship with Android 13-based OxygenOS straight out of the box, with four years of software updates and five years of security updates guaranteed by OnePlus for the former.

Pricing

The OnePlus 11 5G can be had in two colours – Titan Black and Eternal Green. While the base 8GB+128GB variant is priced at will come for Rs 56,999, whereas the OnePlus 11 5G 16GB+256GB storage variant starts at Rs 61,999. Pre-booking starts from today, whereas the phone will go on sale from February 14. The smartphone will be available in two colour options – Titan Black and Eternal Green.

The base OnePlus 11R 5G, on the other hand, starts at Rs 39,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, whereas the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant retails at Rs 44,999.
