OnePlus 10T gets OxygenOS 14.0.0.300 stable update and January security patch

It’s been a while since OnePlus began rolling out the OxygenOS 14 update to eligible OnePlus devices globally. However, the update has been rolling out rather slowly, with many users, especially those with older OnePlus devices wondering if their phones would receive the update at all. Well, OnePlus has finally begun to roll out the OxygenOS 14.0.0.300 stable update to OnePlus 10T users in India, in a phased manner.

What's new on OxygenOS 14.0.0.300?

The new OxygenOS 14 update brings with it several important features aimed at enhancing the overall user experience for OnePlus devices. In addition to this, it also includes the January security patch, which fixes 58 vulnerabilities in the operating system, with 10 of them being rated high severity.

OnePlus, in a community post, says that the update extends the OnePlus 10T’s battery life in a few scenarios. OnePlus has remained silent on just what these scenarios are though, or even how much they extend the battery life on the device.

Strangely, the Background stream feature is being removed from the Smart Sidebar. This was the closest one could get to streaming content on YouTube in the background, without actually have to pay for a YouTube Premium subscription.

However, OnePlus has addressed a very frequent issue on the app side, wherein the screen would turn white anytime one opened the Theme Store on the phone.

How to check for updates on your OnePlus device

OnePlus is rolling out the update in a phased manner to users in India. To check for the update, open the Settings app on your OnePlus smartphone, and scroll down till you find an option by the name of “About device.” Here, tap on the Android version mentioned at the top of the screen, and your device should automatically start searching for updates.

If the update is here for your OnePlus 10T, the same should pop up on your screen. Follow the on-screen prompts to install it to your phone. Bear in mind. Your phone should be charged to a minimum of 50 per cent before installing the update and also must have a stable internet connection.
