This smartphone promises audio performance that can rival Bluetooth speakers

Remember the Nokia XpressMusic? Well, we all do, but today, we no longer get to see such phones that focus on the music bit.  Smartphones lately come with stereo speakers with all sorts of certifications, but the overall output isn’t too loud or not as good as Bluetooth speakers.

Nubia’s newest release, however, dubbed the Nubia Music 2, is a headliner smartphone that comes with a dedicated 2.1 audio system, i.e., a triple speaker setup that’s almost as loud as your typical Bluetooth speaker.

What’s more, the device also boasts a flashy design and LED light strips. Intrigued? Let’s see the phone’s full specifications, price, and availability.

What’s special about the Nubia Music 2?

The all-new Nubia Music 2 is all about music. It’s a smartphone dedicated for those who love listening to loud music. It packs a 2.1-channel audio system, which includes three full-range speakers. The total output of these speakers is up to 96dB.

For comparison, a typical Bluetooth speaker’s loudness range is between 80 and 100dB, which means that the Nubia Music 2’s triple speaker setup is fairly loud. It’s a DTS:X Ultra setup that supports spatial audio for an immersive experience.

What complement the speakers are the LED light strips that pulsate along with the music. Thanks to these LED light strips and the phone’s flashy and multi-coloured design, the smartphone can be a bit of a looker for some, but again the design is subjective.

Other than this, the smartphone has modest specifications. It has a 6.7-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. It has a dual-rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor and an AI unit.

On the front, there’s a 5MP camera for clicking selfies and doing video calls. The smartphone also has some AI features in the gallery like AI photo search, AI magic editor, AI magic eraser, and more.

The device is powered by a Unisoc T7200 chipset, which is a rebranded version of the Unisoc T606 SoC. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.

The smartphone runs on Android 14, which is a year old, but we expect it to get Android 15 later. But there’s no word on that, so be wary about it. The device also has a 3.5mm headphone for connecting your wired headphones.

The Nubia Music 2 is only available in select regions for about $87 (roughly Rs 7,500). For that price, the device looks great, but don’t expect it to launch here in India. However, if you want something unique or flashy, you can check out the Nothing Phone (2a) and the CMF Phone 1. The former has glowing lights on the back, like the Music 2, whereas, the latter has a semi-modular design.
