Nothing launched the Nothing Phone (3a) series this week, and it comprises of two models – the Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro. Both come with similar specifications but look different.

Nothing Phone (3a) vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: Design, display
Design-wise, both follow the Nothing philosophy with a transparent back panel and adorned with the Glyph interface. The Phone (3a) looks exactly like an upgraded version of the Phone (2a), with its camera sensors placed horizontally. The Phone (3a) Pro, on the other hand, features an asymmetrical design, with the triple-rear camera placed in an unusual way.

Both phones have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2392 pixels. Both have a 120Hz screen with up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness and Panda Glass protection.
Nothing Phone (3a) vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: Cameras
In terms of cameras, the duo has a triple-rear camera system on the back with a 50MP main sensor with OIS support. It is assisted by a 50MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom support on the Phone (3a) and 3x optical zoom support on the Phone (3a) Pro.
The Phone (3a) has a 32MP camera on the front for selfies, whereas the Pro model gets a 50MP selfie snapper. The rear as well as the front camera on the Pro model are capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps. As for the Phone (3a), only the rear camera can shoot 4K videos at 30fps.
Nothing Phone (3a) vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: Performance, extras
The Phone (3a) series draws power from the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 from Qualcomm. Both have up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The duo houses a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired fast charging support. Both phones run Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0 out of the box.
Nothing has also added the new Essential Key on both models that allows you to add quick voice notes, which can be found in the Essential Space. The feature uses AI to organise all your notes, helping you manage. The Phone (3a) has an IP64 rating, whereas the Phone (3a) Pro comes with an IP68 rating, making it more durable.
Nothing Phone (3a) vs Nothing Phone (3a) Pro: price
The Phone (3a) prices start from Rs 24,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, whereas the Phone (3a) Pro prices start from Rs 29,999 for the same base configuration.
Overall, both the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro have similar specifications and features, but with a few key differences. Design is one, while the Pro model also offers better telephoto zoom range, and a higher-megapixel selfie camera on the Pro model. Also, there’s a better IP68 certification on the Pro model. You also get a 12GB RAM variant when buying the Phone (3a) Pro.
If you want all the added features mentioned above, the Phone (3a) Pro for extra Rs 5,000 is for you. Or else, you should be fine with the standard Phone (3a).
