Nothing OS 3.0 beta comes to Nothing Phone (2)

Not long after the company rolled out its Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0 beta version to the Phone (2a), the update seems to finally be reaching Nothing Phone (2) users as well. The announcement, which was made via Nothing’s Community Forum, mentioned how the update should be rolling out to Phone (2) users starting today. If you were one of the few awaiting the update, check out everything new coming to your Nothing Phone 2.

Nothing Phone (2) to get Nothing OS 3.0 beta: What's there to know?

According to the announcement, users will be able to make the most of the reimagined design, and will also bring in a host of other functional improvements. For starters, users will be able to make the most of new lock screen customisation pages that can be accessed by simply long-pressing the lock screen.

Apart from that, the smartphone will also boast updated clock faces and an expanded widget space for those who want to accommodate more on their home screen.

Secondarily, Nothing Phone (2) users will also be able to enjoy the AI-powered Smart Drawer feature designed to help organise and share folders better. The forum also states how users can pin their favourite apps on top of the app drawer, so as to do away with unnecessary scrolling.

Nothing goes on to mention how users can benefit from faster camera launch speed with the camera widget. Other improvements coming to the camera include reduced HDR processing time, optimised portrait effects and boosted camera performance in low-light situations.

The brand has also thrown in other minor, yet significant updates, including an AI-powered selection of frequently used apps. Lastly, users will also get a partial screen-sharing mode and new animation styles for fingerprint and charging.

How to download and install the Nothing OS 3.0 beta update

For now, the Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0 is only available for those enrolled in the brand’s beta program. If you find yourself on this list, you can locate the update when you navigate to Settings > System > Update to Beta version.

You can also ‘Check for a New Update’ in case you don’t see it appear for you immediately. If you still don’t see it, don’t fret. The new version is gradually rolling out to Nothing Phone (2) users and will gradually reach your device in the coming week.

While Nothing Phone (2a) was the first to receive the beta update, Nothing Phone (2) users can now join the party and experience the latest software firsthand.
