Nothing is launching yet another entry in the (2a) series (it’s third phone) called the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition. The new device is expected to not actually be an entirely new phone, but a rebadged version of the Nothing Phone (2a) with some extra elements.
The phone is set to launch next week, but ahead of that, we have a fair idea of what to expect from the new phones.
Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition: What’s new?
The Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition brings together multiple elements that have come from the Nothing Community. This includes features designs and other aspects suggested and developed by individuals.

External design – Nothing has chosen the ‘Phosphorescence’ design by Kenta Akasaki and Astrid Vanhuyse as the winning design for the device. This design gives the asymmetric elements on the back of the phone a glowing touch, allowing many elements of the phone to glow in the dark.
Wallpaper – A collection of new wallpapers called the Connected Collection by Andrés Mateos has been selected as the wallpaper design winning entry. The Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition will be including these panels, which should also work well with the glowing back panel.
Packaging – Selecting a package design by Ian Henry Simmonds as the winning entry, the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition’s box will include black and light green colour palette, which is a fresh look compared to the vanilla colours of the phone. The packaging also zooms in on a camera lens of the device in the middle of the box, giving it somewhat of its own identity.
These three elements will be incorporated into the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition, along with a winning entry for the phone’s marketing campaign that you can check out on the brand’s page.
The Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition will launch on October 30, and more details on how to get your hands on one should be available then. However, if you don’t want the new colours, you can also check out the white, black and blue editions of the Nothing Phone (2a), which offer the same internal specifications and should be easier to buy. There’s also the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus if you’re looking for a slightly more powerful device.
