Soon, you will be able to summon ChatGPT to your assistance on your Nothing earbuds with only a pinch or slide. While the functionality was introduced on the recently launched Nothing Ear (a) and the Nothing Ear, the brand announced its plans to expand this support to other devices via a social post.
These would include audio products across Nothing, as well as sub-brand CMF by Nothing. This integration will be deployed via an update to its smartphone companion app.
Nothing ChatGPT integration: What's new?
Nothing and CMF have a wide range of wireless audio products across price ranges. With the new update, the brand plans to extend artificial intelligence capabilities across the rest of its audio portfolio, including older products.

The ChatGPT update will allow Nothing users to set the AI chatbot as the default virtual assistant. This is currently carried out with a ‘pinch-to-speak’ gesture on the stem of the wireless earbud. However, older products will sport a different way to activate ChatGPT capabilities.
It is crucial to note that for now, the feature will only be available for Nothing audio products paired with a Nothing smartphone. Other Android smartphones, as of today, will not be able to use the earphones to establish a connection with ChatGPT. Apart from this, you will also be required to have stable internet connectivity for you to trigger the chatbot for any of your queries.
Nothing ChatGPT integration: Which devices will get the update?
All seven audio products introduced by Nothing and sub-brand CMF will receive ChatGPT integration via an update. These include the Ear (1), Ear (stick), Ear (2), CMF Buds, CMF Neckband Pro, and CMF Buds Pro.
It is worth noting that it will only be available via the Nothing X app update, so ensure you have it installed and running its latest version on your smartphone before trying it out. The brand further states that it will be available to all Nothing audio products starting May 21.
Nothing also currently facilitates quicker access to the ChatGPT app on the smartphone with various widgets. The feature was first rolled out for Phone (2) with the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update. However, it was also rolled out to Phone (2a) earlier this month.
