Nintendo Switch 2: List of all the games available at launch

Gaming circles all across the globe have been buzzing post the launch of the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. The handheld console from Nintendo has been refreshed with a new design and hardware under the hood. The first Switch launched way back in 2017, and now, eight years later, gamers have been treated to a brand new refresh.

With new hardware, come new expectations

Folks who would be flocking to stores to get their hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, will also be treated with a selection of games that are seeing the light of day for the first time. Here’s a quick look at what games have been launched with the Nintendo Switch 2 – 

– Mario Kart World

– Elden Ring – Tarnished Edition

– Hades II

– Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 – Fighters Edition

– Demolition Machina: Titanic Scion

– Split Fiction

– Drag X Drive

– EA Sports FC

– EA Sports Madden

– Hogwarts Legacy

– Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4

– Hitman: World of Assassination – Signature Edition

– Project 007

– Bravely Default: Flying Fairy

– Yakuza O – Director’s Cut

– Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (Coming this Winter)

– Civilization 7

The selection of games at launch looks to be quite interesting, and with launches slated to happen over the course of the new few months, it will be an exciting time for handheld enthusiasts and Nintendo lovers, for sure. Nintendo Switch 2 games will be divided into three categories –

Nintendo Switch 2 games – These are the games that are built from the Switch 2 from the ground up.

Compatible Nintendo Switch games –  These are the games that were released on the Switch, but are compatible with the Switch 2. 

Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games – These are the OG Switch games that will be reworked to work on the Switch 2. If you have the Nintendo Switch version of the game, then you can play the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing an upgrade pack.

Adding to the joy is the fact that Nintendo Switch 2 will have complete support for  the games that you would have gotten on the OG Switch. Not all the games from the OG Switch will work on the Switch 2, but most of them, from the looks of it, should be playable on the Switch 2.

This means that you won’t have to rebuy your favourite titles or rebuild your library when you get the Nintendo Switch 2. They will be loading faster and you will mostly experience better overall performance, thanks to the new hardware Switch 2 brings.
