Nikon Zf launched for photographers with a penchant for retro design

Yeah, smartphone cameras have come a long way, but those with more professional use-cases and an eye for detail will still pick a full-frame camera. For that market, Nikon has launched the new Nikon Zf, a full-frame camera that blends classic design with a lot of modern functionality.

Specifications include a 24.5MP full-frame sensor, 299-point tracking autofocus support with subject detection, and image stabilisation. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Nikon Zf.

Nikon Zf top features

The Nikon Zf comes with an Expeed 7 image-processor which enables features like 10-bit N-log video. The camera can also record videos in 4K at 30fps or 60fps and comes with a dedicated monochrome mode and a Vari-angle monitor.

The camera also comes with dual SD-card support but do note that one of the two slots is a microSD card slot, while the other is a larger SD card slot. A 3.2-inch touchscreen display is also available, replacing the viewfinder when you’re in for some serious capturing, which is also when the continuous burst shooting (at 30fps) will come in handy.

The Nikon Zf also comes with pixel-shift shooting, a new feature which captures high-definition images of detailed subjects. Users can now shoot multiple NEF (RAW) files while shifting image sensor positions. Lastly, the camera is also the first in the Z-series to be touch-operated, allowing easier navigation and quick switching for busy shooting days.

Nikon Zf pricing and availability

The Nikon Zf camera is priced at Rs 1,76,995, but will only be available in mid-October later this year. You can check out more details about the Nikon Zf on the official website, and also check out the Nikon Z8 if you’re looking for more performance minus the retro looks.
