Table of Contents
Netflix has started rolling out a new feature for its smartphone app users, and it’s called ‘My Netflix’. As the name suggests, it is a new tab that hosts your binge list and more in one handy space.
The ‘My Netflix’ tab is currently available on iOS devices and is expected to be rolled out for Android in August. It replaces the ‘Downloads’ tab, where viewers could save movies and TV shows they liked for offline viewing.
This new tab provides users with a list of all the content they’ve downloaded, given a thumbs up to, as well as films they’ve saved to their ‘My Watch List’. Additionally, it also allows one to view the trailers they’ve recently watched, titles they’re currently watching, as well as the ones they’ve recently finished.
Why should you use the My Netflix tab?
The ‘My Netflix’ tab aids better content discovery for users, as it provides viewers with more personalised recommendations on what to watch, based on the above-mentioned information. These recommendations are different from the algorithm-driven recommendations one sees on the home page.
“Keep in mind that the more you interact with and tell Netflix what you like, such as saving more action-thrillers like ‘Extraction 2’ to My List or giving a thumbs up to every season of ‘Bridgerton’, the more you’ll see on the My Netflix tab,” the company said in a blog post.

This comes in the wake of Netflix’s wider efforts against password-sharing practices, which took shape following an exponential drop in its user base in 2022. Just last week, the company announced that those using the same Netflix account in different geographical locations on separate devices, would no longer be able to do the same.
