2023 was a great year for gaming, as gamers were introduced to some great titles including Spider-Man 2, God of War: Ragnarok, Alan Wake II, and even some great updates for games like Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. We even saw Rockstar Games finally drop the first trailer for GTA 6, something we’d all waited for far too long!
However, the year is now coming to an end, and with 2024 just around the corner, the gaming community has plenty of new titles to wait for and play next year. While hardcore gamers probably already have their calendars marked out, for those who are just starting to make their 2024 gaming wishlist, here’s a list of the most-awaited games to watch out for.
Rugby 24
Initially set for a September 2023 launch, Rugby 24 has been pushed to 2024. While the wait has certainly been longer than the Rugby pitch for fans, Big Ant Studio’s Rugby 24 is now set to launch in a few weeks.

With many new leagues expected to be added along with other gameplay improvements, fans will be waiting to play the game, which will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and of course, Windows PCs.
Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash
Bandai Namco’s awaited Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is a 2v2 multiplayer action game for fans of the popular anime and manga series of the same name. The game is currently available to pre-order on Steam and is set to be released in February 2024. It will be coming to Windows PCs, the PS4 and PS5, the Xbox One and Xbos Series X/S, as well as the Nintendo Switch.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Despite being delayed for about two years, DC comics fans have still been waiting for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This action-adventure game is set in an open-world Metropolis and features four playable characters from the infamous Suicide Squad – Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot and King Shark. The game is set for a February 2024 release and is also expected to feature Kevin Conroy’s final performance as Batman.
Skull and Bones
Set to take the mantle of the best pirate game from Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world game is based in late 17th century, also known as the Golden Age of Piracy.

After being delayed countless times since its original announcement at E3 2017, Skull and Bones is set to finally release in February 2024. The game will be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna and Windows PCs.
Terminator Dark Fate – Defiance
A spin-off based on the 2019 movie and game, Terminator Dark Fate – Defiance is a real-time strategy game taking place in the events post the apocalyptic Judgement Day. Set in the middle of the war between humans and AI, the game also features a multiplayer mode for hours of fun. Set to release in February, the title will be available on Windows PCs
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the upcoming action role-playing game in the popular series. Set immediately after the events of Final Fantasy VII: Remake, the game will be the second title in a trilogy entirely based on the hit 1997 title.
Players take on characters led by Cloud Strife and must fight the Shinra corporation responsible for draining the planet’s energy. Rebirth will be available on the Sony PlayStation 5.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Sequel to 2011’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, the second game is another third-person shooter game to watch out for this year. Expected to release in September 2024, the game puts the players in Lieutenant Titus’ shoes, fighting the forces of Hive Fleet Leviathan. The title will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PCs.
Tekken 8
Fans of fighting games need no introduction to the Tekken series. The next game in the series, Tekken 8, is likely to launch in January 2024, with a new focus on aggressive gameplay.
Along with elements like a more cinematic fighting environment and the perks of Unreal Engine 5, Tekken 8 will take place six months after the events of Tekken 7, following the final confrontation between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama. The title will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PCs.
Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws is a single-player, third-person action-adventure title set in the Star Wars universe and will feature an open-world style gameplay set between the events of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Players will take on the roles of outlaw Kay Vess and her companion Nix as gameplay spans from planets like Tatooine and Akiva to the moon of Toshara. The game will come to the Sony PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PCs.
Apart from these games, 2024 is also likely to see the release of several other games including Persona 3 Reload, The Outlast Trials, and Alone in the Dark. Plenty of games like Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Hades 2, which currently have no fixed release date, are also expected. With so many titles releasing, 2024 is certainly set to be a major year for the gaming world!
