Microsoft rolls out Copilot chatbot for Telegram; here’s how it will work

Microsoft has come up with another easy way for users to interact with Copilot. Intending to weave Artificial Intelligence into day-to-day conversations, the company recently announced its integration with the popular instant messaging smartphone app Telegram. The development, however, comes shortly after WhatsApp rolled out the Meta AI chatbot for its users.

The Microsoft Copilot bot will be able to respond to a host of queries across a wide range of topics. Although in the beta phase as of today, here’s everything you may want to know about the integration.

Microsoft Copilot comes to Telegram: What's there to know?

The official Microsoft Copilot bot on Telegram can be distinguished with a verified checkmark. It will rest under the handle @CopilotOfficialBot and will appear like a regular conversation thread on Telegram.

The bot will be available for free to all Telegram users, and it can be looked up on the smartphone app itself. Another way to access the chatbot is by using the link provided by Microsoft and following the on-screen instructions to begin conversing with Copilot.

What can Microsoft Copilot for Telegram do?

Apart from looking up your queries, here are five other tasks that the Copilot chatbot can perform for you on Telegram:

Research: Copilot will be able to research and give you detailed answers based on your topical questions. This will be powered by Bing search.

Travel planning: Users will be able to ask Copilot to come up with a travel itinerary based on where they are planning to visit.

Fitness guidance: The Copilot chatbot will be able to give you fitness and diet tips, along with relevant workout suggestions when asked for them.

Entertainment updates: Users will also be able to stay up to date with the latest entertainment news. This will include movies as well as music.

Lifestyle and leisure: Lastly, the Copilot bot on Telegram will be able to whip up jokes and send you funny GIFs for you to unwind. Apart from this, it can also give you casual gaming suggestions and also give you dating advice!

Who can use the Microsoft Copilot bot on Telegram?

The Copilot bot on Telegram is currently only available for those enrolled in the beta programme. It is available for both Android and iOS users and can be accessed on both smartphone and desktop Telegram apps.

That said, the chatbot comes with a 30-minute interaction limit as of today and Microsoft has not mentioned any plans to upgrade. Apart from that, it remains unclear when the bot will make it to the larger audience.
