Unlike OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which has been receiving new features almost every week, Copilot didn’t quite receive that special treatment. The result? Microsoft’s AI chatbot lagged far behind the competition for a while. Where other chatbots received features like memory, screen-sharing, and visual support, Copilot was just another chatbot that simply offered answers to questions.
But not anymore, as Microsoft has made Copilot as smart as other AI chatbots with nine new features. This includes support for Deep Research, memory, pages, and more. Here’s everything you need to know.
Copilot Actions
Microsoft’s latest slate of updates for Copilot come on the occasion of the brand’s 50th anniversary. Starting with what Microsoft calls ‘Actions’. As the name suggests, the feature lets Copilot take action on your behalf to complete certain tasks. So, it can book flight tickets and also get dinner reservations for you — all with a simple command.
Notably, this feature works only on partner websites such as Booking.com, Tripadvisor, Kayak, Expedia, OpenTable, Skyscanner, and Viator and Vrbo.
Memory and personalisation
Copilot is also borrowing a feature from ChatGPT and Gemini. We are talking about the new Memory feature that lets the chatbot remember important details about you. For instance, it will know about your food preferences, the movies you like, and a lot more as you chat with it.
The more you chat with Copilot, the more personalised suggestions you will receive. In addition to this, you can now also customise the look of your Copilot assistant, making it more personal to your needs.
Copilot Vision
Like Apple’s Visual Intelligence, Copilot Vision enables the AI chatbot to use your phone’s camera to gather information about things around you. Based on this, you can ask questions about things in the real world. You can also share videos and photos from your camera roll and ask the AI chatbot questions about them.
Deep Research, Pages, and Podcasts
Copilot can now dive deep into topics by researching on the internet, analysing documents, and providing a report – All thanks to the new Deep Research feature.
Copilot is also getting Pages, which, according to Microsoft, let you “organise your thoughts and content from chaos to calm.” Basically, the feature gathers all your notes and data and puts it on a canvas to help you easily organise things.

Copilot is also getting NotebookLM-like feature that allows you to turn your research into an AI-generated podcast with hosts. It can also generate personalised content based on the details you share.
Shopping
With Shopping, Copilot will be able to do research and compare products on your behalf. It will also alert you about price drops, ensuring that you never miss good deals. It goes a step further and completes purchases for you directly from the app, making things convenient.
Copilot search in Bing
Like Google’s AI overviews, Copilot search in Microsoft Bing offers a detailed answer to your search query with citations. This will do away with the need to go through different links on the Internet.
These are all the features that are making their way to Copilot. Most of these features will be rolling out gradually, which means if you don’t see them now, you’ll need to wait for them to appear.
So, out of these Copilot features, which one did you like the most? Do let us know in the comments below.
