The LG Gram is back, this time with on-device AI features

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will begin on January 7 at Las Vegas. Ahead of it, LG has announced its new lineup of Gram laptops for the year. This time around, the LG Gram series features several on-device AI features, with the larger Gram Pro model being the first Copilot+ PC in the lineup.

Let’s look at the specifications, features, and availability of the new AI-powered LG Gram laptops.

New LG Gram series specifications and features

The new LG Gram series has three Pro models – a 16-inch LG Gram Pro that is powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake Core Ultra V-series processors, another 16-inch 2-in-1 Gram Pro model that uses Intel’s Arrow Lake Core Ultra H-series processors, and a 17-inch Gram Pro with the same Arrow Lake Core Ultra H-series processors.

The Lunar Lake powered 16-inch Gram Pro is the first Copilot+ PC in the Gram series. LG has also introduced a host of on-device AI features, such as Gram Chat, which uses a small language model derived from LG’s EXAONE large language model.

There’s also an AI feature called Time Travel, which is a feature similar to Microsoft’s Recall. For the unversed, Time Travel and Recall both allow users to quickly revisit web pages, documents, videos, and files that they’ve recently accessed on their machine.

There’s also Gram Chat Cloud, which is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o model. Further, these Gram laptops also come with LG’s Gram Link 2.0 feature that enables seamless file sharing with PCs and iOS or Android devices.

LG also announced a fourth model in the Gram series dubbed the LG Gram Book. It’s an entry-level machine which is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor. It has 16GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. It features a 15.6-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a full HD resolution.

All the LG Gram laptops should be available later this year globally. However, it’s unclear if we’ll see the Gram series here in India. However, you can always consider other AI-enabled alternatives, like the HP Envy x360 2-in1 and the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus.
