Lenovo unveiled a new line of gaming laptops referred to as the ‘LOQ’ series (pronounced “lock”). These laptops are aimed at first-time gamers in the country, who are on a budget. The line-up currently consists of two models – a 15 and a 16-inch variant – available with a number of CPU and GPU options across different price points.
Processors and performance
The Lenovo LOQ series of laptops can be powered by either up to a 13th Gen Intel Core processor or an AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPU, and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. There are other options that suit different gaming styles of different intensity, as well as budgets. Furthermore, the laptops come with up to 16GB of dual-channel DDR5 RAM, and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen-4 SSD storage.

To aid one’s gaming experience on the LOQ series, one can access higher frames-per-second and reduced latency on games via the NVIDIA Advanced Optimus feature, which bypasses the integrated GPU on the PC. On the flip side, when one is not gaming, the MUX switch on the GPUs allows them to automatically switch to integrated graphics, allowing them to save battery in the process.
The LOQ series of laptops also come equipped with the Lenovo LA AI chip, which powers the Lenovo AI Engine +. This AI engine tunes the wattage and thermal performance of the laptops, and also analyses and learns usage patterns over time, to help further tune and improve gaming performance.
Heating is taken care of via four heat pipes, dual 85mm 12V high-speed fans, and extra-large air intakes and outlets that total up to 135W TDP, and ensure the laptop is also quiet while cooling it.
Battery
The 16-inch Lenovo LOQ variants come with up to an 80Whr battery which can last for up to seven hours, whereas the 15-inch variants come with a 60Whr battery, good for up to six hours. Both variants have a USB Type-C port, which supports 140W Super Rapid Charge Pro.
Design and display
The 15 and 16-inch Lenovo LOQ laptops come equipped with PureSight displays, with 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios respectively, with variable refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The LOQ devices also come with support for NVIDIA G-SYNC, which provides for an immersive gameplay experience, with sharper colours and contrast.
