Intel’s Core Ultra lineup has already been available with a few laptops in India now. However, the top-of-the-line chip in the series – the Intel Core Ultra 9, was yet to be officially available on a laptop. That changes with the new Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i.
The latest laptop from Lenovo is one of the first to feature the Intel Core Ultra 9 chip, and comes with a range of features that make it great for creators as an all-round on-the-go solution. Here’s all you need to know about the machines.
Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i: What’s new?
The Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i is a compact laptop that comes with a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The OLED panel should offer good contrast levels and vivid, accurate colours for anyone who works in designing or deals with a lot of photos or videos. Meanwhile, the 120Hz panel offers a smooth experience in day-to-day use, transitions and more.

Along with the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, which offers up to 5.1GHz clock speeds, the laptop also comes with 32GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Being an Intel Evo standard laptop, you also get Iris Xe graphics. This should ensure a powerful experience for all kinds of photo-editing suites and video editors to work seamlessly when on the move.
Since there’s also a Core Ultra-series chip powering the internals of the laptop, users get the power of on-device AI, which means better performance of everything from tools like Microsoft Copilot to better edge detection on video call effects, improved noise cancellation algorithms and more.
The laptop also comes with an 84Wh battery that Lenovo claims can offer up to 11.5 hours of runtime on a single charge. A Rapid Charge Express charger also promises three-hour battery life with just 15 minutes of charging.
Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i: Price, availability and alternatives
The Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i is priced starting at Rs 1,09,990, and will be available in a single colour – Arctic Grey, for now.
At that price, some other laptops you can consider include the HP Envy x360 14, which comes with a Core Ultra 5 processor, but adds a 2-in-1 form factor. If you don’t need on-device AI, but are looking for as much power as you can get in that price, you can also consider the Lenovo LOQ 15 with a Core i7 chip and RTX 4050 graphics instead.
