IFA Berlin 2024 is quickly turning into a showcase for some of the wildest laptop designs known to humans. We already saw Acer launch a gaming laptop with a built-in controller yesterday. Hours later, Lenovo is turning heads (quite literally) with its new twisting laptop.
Meet the Lenovo Auto Twist AI PC – a laptop that can automatically open up its lid at the press of a button, or if you’re really feeling fancy, with a voice command. That’s not all though. The laptop also happens to be a 2-in-1 and can turn into a tablet when you need it too.
Lenovo Auto Twist AI PC: What’s new?
The Lenovo Auto Twist AI PC comes with a motorised hinge, which facilitates its self-powered twisting and turning, something that we’ll likely never not find cool.

Lenovo has also linked the twisting mechanism of the laptop with its facial recognition scanners, allowing it to do magical stuff like track your movements and twist the screen accordingly. Now that beats Center Stage on iPads by a mile.
No more scraped keyboards
The Lenovo Auto Twist AI concept solves one of the biggest issues with 2-in-1 foldables today that is not talked about enough – the fact that when used in tablet mode, the keyboard is left to face your desk. Over time, this usually results in significantly more wear and tear showing up on your keys and the trackpad.
On the Twist AI PC, however, the screen opens up, twists 180-degrees and goes back down, meaning even in tablet mode, your keyboard and trackpad stay protected at all times, and the only part of the laptop that is in contact with the surface below, is the bottom.

Other specifications like what kind of hardware powers the laptop are still not revealed, which is understandable, given the concept nature of the Twist AI.
While you may not be able to get your hands on the Lenovo Auto Twist AI PC yet, the tech may become staple in the years to come on some other Lenovo laptops.
