The existing Kindle e-reader lineup has finally been refreshed with brand new models, including the first coloured Kindle, the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. Other Kindle models include the new Kindle Scribe, Kindle Paperwhite, which is said to be the fastest Kindle model yet, and an entry-level Kindle. Let’s see the specifications and prices of all the new models.
Kindle 2024 lineup has four new models
Starting with the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition, which comes as the first Kindle with a coloured e-ink display. It is advertised to offer a paper-like colour, which means it will be more appealing to read comics or look at book covers.
The Colorsoft Signature Edition is waterproof, ensuring that you can take it to the bathtub for a reading session. It also supports wireless charging and is said to last up to eight weeks on a full charge. It has new nitride LEDs and comes with features like fast page turns for quick readers.
Coming to the Kindle Scribe, it’s an updated version with a 300ppi screen. It supports white edges, making it feel like an actual paper when writing on it using the new Premium Pencil. New Scribe’s Active Canvas feature lets you add notes on the pages of a book, and all the text you write will flow around the pages, a “first-of-a-kind book writing experience.”
There’s also a new Paperwhite model and it’s said to be the fastest Kindle yet. It has a 7-inch display and a big battery that is advertised to offer up to three months of usage. It is also water-resistant and comes with 16GB of storage for storing all your e-books.

There’s also a Paperwhite Signature Edition that has double the storage, i.e. 32GB and auto-adjusting front light. Buyers can also choose an optional wireless charging variant, making the overall Kindle-owning experience more convenient.
Finally, there’s a new entry-level Kindle, which may be one of the most popular Kindles, thanks to its cheaper price. The new base Kindle comes in a compact form factor and gets a 300ppi screen with support for faster page turns. As for storage, it has 16GB of storage space.
Kindle 2024 lineup price and availability
The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is priced at $279.99 (about Rs 23,500) and it will be available on October 30 in the global markets. The new Kindle Scribe costs $399.99 (about Rs 33,600) and it will start shipping in December.
