Apple’s first smartphone this year will most likely be the much-awaited iPhone SE. The next iPhone SE and a successor to the last SE model released in 2022, is expected to come with some design upgrades, among with other improvements.

Despite past reports suggesting a Dynamic Island on the upcoming iPhone SE, newer reports hint at the old-fashioned notch display. However, the device will bring an improved design and a new hardware. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming iPhone SE.

According to display analyst Ross Young, the next iPhone SE may feature a notch like the iPhone 14. This could make the new iPhone SE the only new iPhone with to still feature a notch. As for the display specifications, the smartphone may have a 6.1-inch screen.

Since it is likely to be be a budget handset, don’t expect a ProMotion support, which the upcoming iPhone 17s are expected to get. Design-wise, the iPhone SE is said to be a minimal-looking smartphone, with only a single camera on the rear. Despite featuring a single rear camera, its design will differ from the iPhone SE 2022 edition.

In terms of the performance, the device could be powered by Apple’s A17 Pro chipset, the same chipset as the iPhone 15 Pro models. The device is also expected to get more RAM, likely 8GB. More RAM and a comparatively newer chipset will make the iPhone SE 2025, also termed as the iPhone SE 4, eligible to run Apple Intelligence.

What’s more? The device may get a bigger battery due to the larger form factor. Expect standard charging speeds. Since the next iPhone SE may arrive even before the next WWDC event, it should boot on the existing iOS 18 software. The device should support many years of updates like any other iPhone.

Coming to the release timeline, the next iPhone SE is expected to launch sometime in April. It should arrive at an affordable price tag compared to the iPhone 16 lineup.
