The tech world was waiting for the new iPhone SE to become official last night. However, it seems Apple had other plans. While we did get a new smaller announcement in the form of the new Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, the new affordable iPhone was nowhere to be seen.
Now, we have some sort of clarity on when the phone is coming out, and rest assured, the next iPhone SE is not a myth, and is still launching later this month. Here’s all you need to know.
Apple iPhone SE 4: When is the phone launching?
The iPhone SE Gen 4 (also known as the iPhone SE 2025 or the iPhone SE 4 until Apple has an official name) is likely to launch next week. A new report by Mark Gurman, who has a good track record of predicting launches and features, suggests the same.

Gurman, who had previously expected the phone to launch this week, in a new X post suggested that the new iPhone SE is still “imminent” and should be announced next week instead, when the compact will also be holding product briefings.
M4 MacBook Air launch nears
Gurman’s post also points at the launch of Apple’s next MacBooks, the M4 MacBook Air models. Expected in multiple sizes again, the new MacBook Air models will come with Apple’s newest M4 chip, adding to the range of M4-powered devices, including the MacBook Pro and the Mac mini.
iPhone SE 4: What to expect
The Apple iPhone SE 4 is expected to come with a new design that’s more in line with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series devices. This includes a fullscreen panel, Face ID instead of touch ID and no physical home button. The device is likely to be powered by the Apple A18 chipset and hence, will also support Apple Intelligence.
That said, it will still sport just a single main camera, and lack features like Dynamic Island, the Action Button and the Camera Control switch, all of which will require you to buy the newer iPhone 16 series.
