iPhone leaks suggest Apple is done with muted colours

Apple is reportedly switching to the dark side of the colour wheel for its next iPhones

iPhone leaks suggest Apple is done with muted colours

When Apple launched the iPhone 15 series nearly a year ago, reactions to the new muted colours on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus were mixed, a sentiment that only got more bitter once the first sale units started rolling out.

Many fans didn’t like the new colours because they were a little too subtle for their liking. The blue iPhone 15, for instance, looked more like a white phone than a blue one. It now seems that Apple has taken the feedback into consideration for the new iPhones.

Which colours may we see the iPhone 16 in?

As per new leaks by X user Sonny Dickson (@sonnydickson), Apple is switching back to darker colours for the non-Pro iPhone 16 models. Assuming Apple launches four variants in the series again, the new colours would be applicable to the next iPhones.

The new leaks show the new iPhone dummy models in a total of five colours. These are blue, pink and green, in addition to a black and a white variant. Previous leaks by Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also predicted these colours on the upcoming iPhones, but we now have a clearer look at the specific shades.

The iPhone series is expected to launch in September, and Apple is expected to bring many new changes to the phones, apart from the new colours. These include new processors, an action-button that’s now made standard across the series, more RAM to accommodate for Apple Intelligence features, and more.

Do note that Apple is yet to officially announce the iPhone 16 series, so any information available on the devices is purely via leaks and speculation. Like everyone else, you too must wait for official communication from the company for more concrete details on the phones.
