Apple has already made it clear AI will be the headline when the iOS 18 update comes out, and with WWDC 2024 just days away, there isn’t much of a wait left either. However, as we inch closer to an iOS 18 launch, other details around iOS 18 are slowly surfacing on the web
As per the latest reports by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter, Apple will be adding a new Settings app redesign that will make the interface cleaner and organisation better. Searching for specific settings is also set to get better with the new update.

As someone who switched from Android to iPhones this in 2023, the clutter on the Settings app was one of the first things I disliked about iOS, the other being the inability to move apps around on the homescreen, something Apple is also likely to fix with iOS 18.
It remains to be seen what the new redesign brings to the table, but hopefully that includes all app-settings put under an ‘Apps’ section, among other things. The report also adds that a similar redesign is also coming to the macOS System Settings app.
iOS 18: New Control Centre and other changes
iOS 18 is also set to bring a redesign to the iconic Control Center after a long time. New changes include a redesigned music widget within the Control Centre and better Home app integration. More specifics are still under wraps.
Meanwhile, the iOS Messages app will get better at animating your messages before you send them. While text message animations have been a thing, iOS 18 will allow users to also animate specific words inside a text message for more impact. Other changes include UI changes to the Photos and the Mail app.
Apple will announce iOS 18 at its WWDC 2024 annual developer conference, which kicks off next week on June 10, 2024. The first beta updates for iOS 18 will likely be available post launch for newer devices like the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.
