Apple launched the iOS 18 earlier this month to all supported iPhones. One thing that the latest iOS version focuses on is customisation. There’s customisation in the Control Center, Home Screen, and even on the Lock Screen.
Apple finally allows you to replace the shortcut buttons on the Lock Screen, meaning you can do away with that camera icon to place the calculator shortcut, if that’s what you want to do.

Step 1: On your iPhone Lock Screen, press and hold until you don’t see the ‘Customise’ button at the bottom of the screen. Note that you will have to unlock your iPhone to do so, so let it scan your face to unlock the device using Face ID.
Step 2: Tap Customise.
Step 3: Select Lock Screen.
Step 4: You should now be able to replace shortcut buttons with the choice of shortcuts you want. To do that, tap on the minus (-) button next to the existing shortcuts (You should have flashlight and camera as default shortcuts) to delete them.
Step 5: Now, you should see the plus (+) button, tap on it and select the choice of shortcut. You mostly have a choice of first-party apps and actions, but there’s also an ‘Open App’ shortcut, which you can set to open any third-party apps, such as Google Assistant, X, Netflix, and others.
Step 6: Once selected, tap on Done to confirm and set.
That’s how you can easily replace shortcuts on your iPhone’s Lock Screen. Stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for more iOS 18 tips and tricks, and all things tech.
