Apple has recently released two new software updates for its iPhones and the Apple Watch series. The new updates aren’t really big in size and as a result, don’t pack any exciting new features. However, they do solve some annoying bugs with several iPhone and Apple Watch models. Here’s a quick look at all that is new, and how you can update your devices.
iOS 17.1.1
With iOS 17.1.1, Apple fixes the Weather lock screen widget bug, which as per many user reports, would incorrectly display snow. For users with the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series, the update also fixes another bug which rendered Apple Pay and some other NFC features useless after a session of wireless charging on some car models.

To update your iPhone, head to Settings > General > Software Update and check for a new update card. If you don’t see one, swipe down to manually refresh the phone and check for an update. Once an update is available, make sure your phone has enough charge, and follow on-screen instructions to update your iPhone.
watchOS 10.1.1
The Apple Watch quick battery drain is pretty notorious among those who had updated their watch to watchOS 10. However, watchOS 10.1.1 finally fixes this bug, and users should see better battery life post the update, assuming your watch’s battery life was good to begin with pre-watchOS 10.
To update your Apple Watch, make sure it is connected to your iPhone and head to the Apple Watch app on your phone. In the ‘My Watch’ tab, navigate to General > Software Update and download the new update. Follow on-screen instructions to proceed with the update.
