Whether you’re dealing with 2 AM hunger pangs or recovering from a heartbreak, Maggi is the ultimate go-to comfort food for a lot of us. For most, it is also their first-ever stab at cooking, and let’s not forget the nostalgia of whipping up its ‘exotic’ concoctions as children.
In fact, Maggi’s claim to fame was not just its taste, but its ‘2-minute’ instantness and affordability. However, while it didn’t take long to make its way to our hearts, it’s not exactly a healthy snack to binge on at all times. That said, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t indulge every once in a while, and especially today, on account of International No Diet Day. Here are five kitchen appliances that you can use to whip up the ultimate, late-night Maggi for yourself:
5 Maggi recipes using kitchen appliances
The tried and tested way to cook Maggi is often relying on the gas stove. But there are plenty of ways to spruce up your bowl of instant noodles. Check out five unique ways you can cook Maggi using different kitchen appliances.
1. Induction cooktop: Cheese vegetable Maggi
An induction cooktop reduces the hassles of cooking on a high flame. Apart from this, it is also ideal for times when you want to resort to preset modes. To begin with, you can chop vegetables up finely and use the Sautee mode on your induction cooktop. Feel free to use your favourite vegetables, from peas to onions, that can add that extra zing to your noodles. Set this aside and use a pan to boil water for your Maggi noodles. Once your noodles are ready, you top it up with vegetables and add a slice of cheese to enjoy a low-budget date night snack at home.

2. Air fryer: Maggi fritters
If you’ve loved Maggi in its noodle form, wait till you hear about Maggi fritters! To begin, boil the noodles and drain all the water once it is cooked. After this, all you need to do is toss them in spices and chickpea or besan flour. While you ready your batter, don’t forget to preheat your air fryer and set it to 180 degrees. Then, oil the basket using a brush and arrange the fritters inside. Don’t forget to occasionally check up on them to see if they’re turning golden brown!
3. Electric kettle: Soupy Maggi
There’s nothing like a bowl of Maggi when you’re down with the flu or sniffles. But if you struggle with determining the right amount of ‘soupiness’, we have a secret hack for you to fall back upon. If you have an electric kettle in your kitchen or hostel room, all you need are basic culinary skills.
Chop up your favourite vegetables (onion, garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms, even) and add them to the water in your kettle. Once the concoction begins to boil, add spices and salt as per preference. Stir well, add Maggi along with its tastemaker, and let it boil until you have the right amount of soup left for your noodles.
4. Microwave: Maggi in a mug
Microwaves are ideal when you want easy-to-cook food without having to invest a lot of time or resources. So, if you’ve opened your refrigerator and realised you are scarce on the ingredients, a mug-sized help of Maggi might not be a bad idea after all. Get a ceramic mug and finely chop onions, tomatoes and green chillies along with one packet of Maggi noodles. Next, add the tastemaker, fill the mug 3/4th with water, and stir well. Microwave the noodles for two minutes, inspect to see if they are cooked well and reheat if required. You can then add coriander for garnish and serve piping hot

5. Sandwich maker: Maggi toast
If you’re a little more open-minded (like us), you’d probably enjoy a good Maggi toast, as well. Slice brown (or white) bread in half and generously apply readymade chilli garlic mix to one side. After this, place cooked Maggi noodles and cheese to make it into a sandwich. Once you’re done, you can simply grill it in a sandwich maker and have it with a cup of tea.
While Maggi noodles are certainly versatile, there’s no denying that experimenting with just about anything can lead to wonderful results. That said, don’t forget to journal your recipes and keep them handy for a rainy day!
