Instagram gets new features along with a Creator Lab for aspiring creators in India

Instagram has launched a new educational resource for aspiring creators called Creator Lab to help creators with curating content on the platform. The move is aimed at helping budding creators make it big using advice and tips from both Instagram as well as a range of creators who have built big and diverse communities on the platform through trial and error.

Instagram Creator Labs: What it is and what it can do?

Instagram’s Creator Lab is a platform that has creators who share their experiences and insights ranging from what they wish they had known when starting out to what they have learned throughout their journey. It will cover the usage of new tools and features, creating meaningful connections to gain a loyal following and how to monetise your content for a sustainable career.

Instagram confirms that Creator Lab will feature 14 content creators from diverse geographies, genres and growth journeys. These include Aabir Vyas, Govind Kaushal, Meethika Dwivedi, Raghav Sachhar, and The Vixens Crew to name a few.

This isn’t the platform’s first foray into helping aspiring creators either. Instagram has been investing in educational resources since 2019, and with the platform more invested into short format videos than ever before, providing creators the guidance they’d need is a win-win for everyone.

How to access Instagram Creator Lab

Interested users can check out the Instagram Creator Lab page, where they will find more details on the program and how they can enroll themselves. The page can be accessed on your laptop or smartphone.

Instagram has also mentioned that while Creator Lab’s content library will initially be made available in English and Hindi, it will be captioned in other Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali too soon.

A few new features now available on Instagram

Additionally, Meta has also confirmed that new creative text tools have been deployed for engaging posts, reels and stories. The post carousel size has been increased to 20 pieces of content, something we previously had a look at. It was earlier restricted to 10 pieces of content per post.

While you could add music to your profile and notes, Instagram now allows you to add multiple tracks in reels and mixed media carousel. You can add up to 20 different songs per reel.

Instagram has also launched additional elements like Music, Frames and Reveal Stickers to the popular ‘Add Yours’ template where an action is required by the viewer to engage.
