Instagram filters have been constant on the app ever since its early days as a photo-sharing app on our mobile phones. However, the meta-owned platform recently announced a bunch of new filters along with tools, much to its users’ delight.
With 25 new filters and a lot more in the pipeline, Instagram plans to draw the spotlight back to its creators with these additions. Whether you’re a creator or simply someone who loves to document, here’s what you need to know about the announcement.
Instagram to improve Reels, Carousels, and Stories
Ardent users already know that the social media platform has constantly been adding modifications and new features to the app for a while. However, these have largely been centred towards sharing and promoting content. With the new features, the app plans to provide creators with more tools that they can experiment and work with.

From more colour options to fresh, expressive styles, users will now be able to make considerable changes to their posts, videos and stories with the upcoming update. According to a blog post by Meta, the tools are designed for creators to connect better with their audience and express themselves creatively.
This could include options to rotate, scale and crop your reels. Apart from these, Instagram has also made it easy for you to access features such as voiceover, undo and redo. If you wish to add an AI-generated voiceover, the app is also testing 10 English text-to-speech voices for users to opt for their videos. And if these are not enough, you will soon also be able to create stickers from your videos and experiment with new fonts for your stories and Reels.
New Instagram filters to choose from
If the filters are what you’re looking forward to the most, Instagram has ensured you don’t have to resort to other photo editing apps by adding tools like color leak and zoom blur for your photos. Here is a list of filters that you can expect with the new update on iOS:
