Indiana Jones is coming to the Sony PlayStation 5, but it may be late

One of the biggest classic movie franchises out there is coming out with a new game named Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The game is developed by Microsoft and Bethesda, so of course it’s coming to the Xbox series of consoles. However, Microsoft has just confirmed that the game will also be coming to the Sony PlayStation 5 and Sony PlayStation 5 Slim.

First reported by The Verge, the news is a big move, considering most Microsoft games never make to the PlayStation series (similar to how PlayStation Studio games don’t make it to the Xbox). However, the report also suggests that both the Xbox series and PC may enjoy a short period of exclusive access to the games before they come to the PS5.

Similar to how the GTA 6 game isn’t expected to come to PC for at least a year after its console release, we may not see Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5 for a few months. For Xbox and PC, however, the game launches on December 9, 2024.

The report suggests, this could be closer to April 2025, but this is a tentative timeline that could change later on.

Why the Microsoft title is coming to the PlayStation network

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to the PlayStation 5 is part of a larger multi-platform move that Xbox games (some of them, for now) will implement. Dubbed Project Latitude, the approach will allow games like Doom: The Dark Ages to come to the PlayStation network.

Project Latitude isn’t new either, and is already responsible for bringing titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves and Grounded to the Sony PlayStation 5. Which other titles will come to PlayStation remains to be seen. Perhaps some titles like the Forza Horizon series, which PlayStation gamers have wanted to experience for the longest time, might finally go cross-platform.
