An app for monitoring and enhancing your reading habits

Smartphones and tablets have changed how readers engage with literature. From digital libraries that offer access to thousands of books at our fingertips, to apps with adjustable text sizes and built-in dictionaries – a lot has changed. These gadgets have made reading and writing more convenient and efficient for our hectic lifestyles.

In search of apps that make reading a little easier (and more fun), I came across Bookmory – a unique app made for readers who wish to track their reading habits, manage notes and more, all in one place!

What is Bookmory, and just what does it do?

Bookmory is a reading tracker that doesn’t just help you time your reading sessions but also allows you to make notes on all your books, thus helping you remember more of your reads.

Book lovers can also set reading goals for themselves and build lasting reading habits with the help of this app. More on that later. Let’s first take a look at what I liked about this app.

What did I think of Bookmory?

Bookmory was super easy to set up and required no sign-in. There’s not much of a learning curve here, so even a newbie like me could focus more on the reading, rather than figuring out the app.

Once installed, I was led through the primary tabs of the app with some easy-to-follow on-screen instructions. The app has some neatly laid out sections like Memorize with the ‘notes’ feature that simplifies saving memorable quotes or notes to refer to later, Achievement which keeps track of all the books that you have finished reading, and My Page which allows you to customise the aesthetics of the app to your liking.

The homepage has to be my favourite, it shows all my current books (with the reading status of each) in one place, so I could quickly jump to any chapter that I left halfway. The interface is also clean with its minimalistic design – a quality I wish more apps incorporated.

Bookmory also has features for tracking your reading habits! These include daily, monthly and annual reading statistics that I believe would motivate many of us to stay on track with our goals.

In my opinion, Bookmory is a well-rounded, user-friendly app that’s ideal for passionate readers and students who need to organise their libraries and track their progress.

The app is also great for readers who are inclined towards e-books or audiobooks, even being available on several tablets for those who like the large-screen experience. If you are a booklover or want to cultivate better reading habits, I highly recommend you give Bookmory a try.

How to get Bookmory

Available on both Android phones and iPhones, Bookmory offers a free version with ads, limited entries and other basic features. While the free version does allow you to back up your data to the cloud, it’s not without limitations.

However, you can purchase the premium version for more advanced features. These include an ad-free experience, unlimited book entries, advanced statistics, more themes, and other features.

The premium subscription will set you back Rs 280 every month. Or, if you’re looking to save some cash in the long run, you can also opt for the yearly Rs 2,500 plan.
