Google’s newest AI tool is great for quick messages that may feel grammatically incorrect

How to use Google Search to quickly check your grammar

Google Search can do a lot more that bring you the websites and pages you’re looking for. With a number of additions from handy tools to hilarious easter eggs added over the years, the platform is quickly turning into an all-in-one solution. It even features its own built-in calculator! However, Google’s latest trick is a quick grammar check on sentences.

The new grammar checker feature isn’t a substitute for tools like Grammarly (yet), but instead is a quick way to check up on the grammar of smaller extracts, ideal for when you’re not around your office laptop. Yes, it also works from a smartphone browser and yes, it is completely free. Here’s how to use it.

To check your grammar, all you need to do is type in your sentence in the Google Search bar, followed by a trigger like “grammar check”, “check grammar” or “grammar checker”.

For instance, if you want to check the grammar in a sentence like “I am going to have to have those documents by Monday,” simply go to Google Search, and type in “I am going to have to have those documents by Monday grammar check.”

Google will quickly check the grammar of the sentence for you and display it above the search results. This process is quicker than using a third-party website or tool when in a hurry. The tool will also help out before sending out those quick mails or messages that may sometimes ‘feel’ wrong while typing out.

Google Search’s grammar check also works straight from the browser URL bar, on devices and apps that support the feature, but is only limited to English for now. Note that the feature is also limited by size. So, typing in very large sentences or entire paragraphs and Google may not be able to run a grammar check, instead directly showing you search results.
