Every iPhone comes with a high-resolution and powerful camera. With such a good camera, we end up capturing every beautiful moment of our life. But unfortunately, an iPhone has limited memory. With so many pictures stored in the gallery, one can eventually run out of storage. In such a scenario, one can either transfer some stuff to the cloud or maybe even take a backup on a laptop.

So how do you transfer photos from your iPhone to your laptop? There are a lot of options to do so. The process is in fact quite easy. Whether you have a Mac or Windows laptop , you can easily transfer your photos from your iPhone. To know the different ways of transferring photos, keep on reading.

USB cable

The simplest way of transferring your photos from your iPhone to your Mac or your Windows laptop is through a USB cable . When you connect both devices through a USB cable, your laptop will be able to detect your iPhone. Simply click on the import photos and videos option to transfer your files.

Wireless method

If you do not have a USB cable with you then you can transfer your photos with AirDrop if you are using a Mac. You need to make sure that your AirDrop is enabled on your iPhone and your Mac, and they are within range of each other. AirDrop the photos you want to transfer and accept it on your receiving device. The photos will be automatically transferred to your Mac within a matter of seconds. This is the quickest way of transferring your photos.

iCloud Photos

You can transfer your photos from your iPhone to your PC via iCloud photos. To do this, you must enable iCloud Photo Library in your settings. So, whenever you take a photo, it automatically gets uploaded to iCloud. You will need to download iCloud for windows on your laptop. Sign in using your Apple ID. You need to enable it iCloud photo library in your options. Now any photo you take from your iPhone will automatically be downloaded to your PC.

Windows photos app

You can use this method only when using Windows 8 or Windows 10. The windows photo app will already be pre-installed on your Windows laptop. For this, you will need to have iTunes downloaded on your laptop. The next step is to connect your iPhone to your PC with the USB charging cable. It might ask for permission to view your pictures and videos. Grant permission, and when requested, enter the device passcode. When you open the Photos app, you will be given the option to import your photos from iPhone to PC. Click on import then all your photos will be imported from your iPhone to your laptop. Once this importing is done, you find all your photos in your pictures folder.

These are the best ways to transfer your photos from your iPhone to your laptop. If you have a Mac, then you can very easily transfer your photos. Since both your Mac and iPhone are manufactured by Apple, transferring files is easy. AirDrop is the best method in this case. If you’re using a windows laptop, then the best option would be to use a cable or iCloud.
