Nearly every device with a screen allows you to take a screenshot, but the method varies – sometimes even among similar products. Screenshots are easy to take on most devices since they feature dedicated tools. Consider installing a screenshot app or extension if the screenshot functionality is lacking. Here’s our handy guide on different ways of taking a screenshot on an Android tablet.
Using voice command: Ask Google Assistant
Make sure your Google Assistant is configured to wake to the “Okay Google” command on any screen if you have it installed. To configure this, follow the steps:
– Tap the Google Home app then choose Account.
– Under Account, select Settings and then the Assistant tab.
– Under assistant devices, choose your Tablet and then enable “Access with Voice Match”.
Now, whenever you want to take a screenshot, you just have to command your device with: “Okay Google, take a screenshot.”
Hold down the power button and the volume down button at the same time
Screenshots were introduced with Android 4.0. Follow these steps to take one:
– Select the screen you would like to capture.
– At the same time, press the power and volume down buttons. A screenshot might be indicated by the screen flashing or shrinking slightly.
– You may find the screenshot in a screenshots folder in your photo gallery.
Using gestures
The palm-swipe gesture is available on some Android tablets, but you’ll need to enable it first. Follow the steps to enable the palm-swipe gesture:
– Open the settings app and then click on advanced features.
– Select palm swipe to capture and toggle the button to turn it on.
Some Android tablets come with an additional option to take screenshots, such as an app or button. You can choose any method at your convenience.
