While we’re all well-versed with how to place calls (both voice and video) using the platform, did you know there is also an option to project your screen? And no, you don’t even have to log in using your desktop to make the most of this feature; here’s what you really have to do.

Step-by-step guide to sharing your screen on WhatsApp

Sharing your screen on WhatsApp is easier than you think. All you need is the latest version of the desktop and smartphone app to begin with. We have a few simple steps for you to follow.

Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your phone or PC
Step 2: Select the contact you want to share your screen with, place a video call by tapping the icon on the top right corner of your screen
Step 3: Once connected, you should be able to see icons in the menu below, including one to share your screen
Step 4: Click on this icon to begin screen sharing; you will be prompted with a pop-up asking you to allow your phone to cast your screen
Step 5: Once you tap on Start Now, your screen will be visible to your contact until you decide to stop sharing

Things to note while sharing screen on WhatsApp

Your screen on WhatsApp calls will only be visible once you swipe up and go to your home screen. You might even have to press back to exit the app. Additionally, it is crucial to note that any sensitive information, including your personal details or passwords, could also be visible to your contact.

It is best to keep only the tabs important to your call open during the screen-sharing process. To stop screen sharing, press on the stop share option to end projection. Screen sharing is currently available on the updated versions of WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business for Android and iOS; ensure you go through the version before trying it out.
