How to customise your Echo Spot’s display

Want to make your Echo Spot more than just a smart speaker? Customising its display is a great way to do that. The Echo Spot is a cute and compact smart speaker that fits perfectly on your bedside table, kitchen counter, or wherever you want a bit of flair.

Its vibrant circular screen and overall design/shape looks pretty retro-futuristic while offering handy features like playing music, setting alarms, checking the weather, and controlling smart home devices. So, if you’re ready to make your Echo Spot uniquely yours, here’s a quick guide to customising its display in no time.

How to customise the Echo Spot display

Despite its fairly basic touchscreen display, the Echo Spot offers plenty of customisation options. You can easily change the clock face, adjust the colour and time format, and even switch Night Mode on or off.

To get started, simply open the Settings menu on your Echo Spot. You can do this by swiping on the touchscreen or using a voice command. Once there, here’s how you can customise the Echo Spot display:

1. Activate Night mode

To make your Echo Spot’s display easier to read at night, go to Display. You’ll find the Night Mode option there and you can toggle it on or off. This will switch the display to a red hue, perfect for nighttime use.

2. Adjust the time format

If you prefer a 24-hour clock, you can easily change this by navigating to Clock & Theme and then selecting Clock Format. You can choose between the 24-hour or 12-hour format based on your preference.

3. Refresh your clock face

For a new look, head to Clock & Theme and select Clock Face. You can browse all the available clock faces and choose the one you like. Then, just confirm your choice by hitting Done.

4. Change the colour theme

To update the touchscreen colour, go to Clock & Theme and select Colour Theme. Pick your preferred colour from the available options and save your choice by selecting Done. This will refresh the look of timers, alarms, clock face, and more.
