In this world of no-code coding and numerous AI tools, converting a website into an app is one of the easiest jobs you can complete as a developer. Of course, do bear in mind that we are of course talking about a simple site to app conversion not involving complex databases and complex animations and interactions.
These simply website to app conversions are great for simple sites such as the ones you’d make for events or small storefronts. You can still use the tools and methods we’ll be listing below for more complex site to app conversions, but you will need to be familiar with coding and have the necessary tools to ensure that everything is working perfectly.
App-like bookmarks
Before we look at a complete conversion, you should know that you have the option of simply creating a bookmark that looks like an app and can be placed on a smartphone or tablet home screen.

To do this on Android smartphones or laptops, simply open your browser window and head to the page you want to bookmark in this way. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the browser window and select ‘Add to home screen’. Chrome will automatically pull a website icon for you, and even suggest a name which can be edited. Click on add, and now you have a bookmark on your Android home screen that is as easy to access as an app.
On MacBooks or iPhones, open Safari and navigate to the page you want to bookmark to your home screen, tap the share icon on the top right of the display, scroll down to ‘Add to Home Screen’. Edit the name if needed and click ‘Add’ to add the bookmark to your iOS or macOS home screen.
Converting a website into an Android app
While someone with a deep understanding of programming can convert a website into an app fairly easily, for this article we’ll focus on simple tools that just about anyone can use.
One great option is NativeNotify. The process is claimed to be so simple that it’ll only take a few minutes to convert your site into an Android app.
You simply head to the site, enter the URL of the site you want to convert and adjust a few parameters. You’ll need some additional tools such as VSCode, but just follow the instructions and you’ll have a simple, working app in a few minutes.

Another similar option is AppsGeyser, which promises pretty much the same thing. You head to the site, copy the URL, and just follow the instructions to end up with a working app in a few minutes. The conversion process is free, but you will need to pay a fee to add additional features not present on the site. If you don’t like either of these options, simply searching for solutions online will present you with a tonne of options, almost all of them free.
For more complex sites, some websites offer services that will do the coding for you for a fee. If you don’t have the skills yourself, you could also hire a professional to do it for you on sites like fiverr.
