Once you have all the elements in place, begin with mixing the dry ingredients first. Pick a microwave-safe mug, and combine the flour, sugar as well as baking powder. Stir well to ensure there are no lumps. Once this is done, you can go ahead and add the milk, butter, and vanilla essence to the dry mixture. Stir and ensure the batter is smooth and has the right consistency.

Next, you can sprinkle in some chocolate chips, dry fruits of your choice, or a dollop of peanut butter as required. Mix well and set it aside. Now, place the mug at the centre of your microwave and set the timer between 60 to 90 seconds. However, it is crucial to note that the time taken could vary based on your microwave’s wattage. Keep watching your microwave mug cake, as it should rise to the top towards the end of the timer.

Once done, allow your microwave mug cake to cool before you dig in with a spoon! If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even throw in a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream to make this concoction extra sinful.

With a microwave at hand, meal prep and quick fixes are easier than usual. If you’re in the market for one, don’t forget to keep features that are important to you in mind. You can also check out our Microwave Buying Guide for other helpful information about the appliance. Happy baking!
