Rockstar gave us an early Christmas present last year, having released a trailer for GTA 6 on December 5. The long-awaited successor to the wildly popular GTA V was announced to launch in 2025, a little over a decade after the former. And now, Take-Two Interactive has also narrowed down the window of when the game could hit the shelves in 2025. Read on.
When could GTA 6 launch?
Rumour had it that GTA 6 could be delayed even further than 2025, and be released in 2026 instead due to production issues. Now, however, those speculations have been put to rest.

According to an IGN report, Take-Two Interactive has announced an updated release window for GTA 6 in an earnings report, touted to be the fall of 2025. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive also stated how he was “fairly confident” that the game would be launched in the fall of 2025 as well.
Bear in mind though, this is only the launch window for the game on consoles such as the Sony PlayStation 5. There has still been no word on when the game will be made available for laptops and desktops.
GTA 6: What we know so far
The official trailer for GTA 6, in case you missed it, was released on December 5 last year.It received as many as 93 million views on the first day, becoming the most-watched reveal trailer for any game ever.
The game is set in modern-day Vice City, in Leonida state. They’re fictionalised versions of Miami and Florida respectively. The trailer for GTA 6 reveals how the player gets to control multiple protagonists like GTA V – and for the first time, a female protagonist as well – Lucia, a Latin American woman, along with Jason. Their last names as well as the nature of their relationship, remain unknown as of now.

Unfortunately, though, the company has still made no mention of when to expect the game for laptops and desktops. Bear in mind though, GTA V was first released for PlayStation and Xbox in September 2013. However, the PC port for the game was released only in April 2015, or a little over a year and a half later.
Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if PC gamers have to wait just as much (or perhaps even longer) to play what is probably one of the most awaited games of all time.
