On December 5 last year, Rockstar Games dropped the first GTA 6 trailer – what would quickly become one of the most watched game trailers released on YouTube. Almost a year later, the studio has issued no further official communication around the title with a second trailer, or even a blog post.
But one doesn’t simply get away with creating hype for one of the most in-demand game series and not following up. Creative individuals of the internet have now taken things into their own hands, and the latest example of this is a fan-made map of the game.
GTA 6 fan-made map: What it is, and how it was made
A user online made their own version of the GTA 6 map and shared it on Reddit. The map is far from a complete polished one but includes most of the locations we see in the trailer.
The user likely achieved this by combing the entire GTA 6 trailer frame-by-frame to create 3D models of Vice City (the fictional city the game is based in), which again, is based on the very real city of Miami, Florida.

It obviously cannot be considered a ‘leak’ since this map was created by a fan, and not Rockstar Games. While it is in no way an official version of any sort, it’s still the closest look we have had at Vice City in the upcoming game.
GTA 6: What we know so far
Details on GTA 6, at least the official ones, have been sparse in the past 10 months. What we do know from the trailer and several leaks from 2023, is that the game will feature two main characters – Lucia and Jason, following the multi-protagonist approach we first saw in GTA V.
Both characters will likely be playable, and the game is expected to feature several main and side missions, where players may have to control both players through the length of the mission to succeed.
Other details include what seems like an in-game social media platform similar to Instagram or TikTok, and the addition of wild animals like crocodiles, something else that comes from GTA V.

GTA 6 is expected to launch before the end of next year, but no precise launch timeline has been officially given. On the other hand, several rumours have suggested the game may be delayed – something Rockstar Games is yet to confirm or deny.
GTA 6, will however, come to consoles like the Sony PlayStation 5 Slim first, while a PC release may come months later, so those using a desktop or a gaming laptop will have to wait.
